Invitation to the Swedish Championship in Go 2012

The tournament takes place 18-20 May 2012.
The playing site is Åkerbogården in Linghem, 5 km east of Linköping.

RULES etc.

The Swedish Championship is played as an elimination tournament where the 16
best ranked Swedish citizens are qualified. The final is decided by a best of
three match series. The players who are not qualified for the elimination
tournament or have lost there will play in a MacMahon tournament with 6 rounds.

Rules for the McMahon tournament

MacMahon-bar:  around 2d

Handicap-bar:  around 10k

The entry-MMS score is set so that there are no gaps at the start
of the tournament. Several ranking steps may be placed at the same
entry-MMS.

As tie breakers are MMS and SOS used. SOSOS, SODOS and similar are not used.

Bars and rank/MMS-tables will if possible be decided and made public
on the night before the torunament start.

Players below the handicap-bar use handicap according to the rank
difference reduced by one in games against other players below the
handicap bar. And according to the rank difference to the bar reduced
by one in games against stronger players.

Japaneese rules

Basic time: 75 min
Byo yomi:   Five periods of 30 s Japaneese

Komi:      6.5 points to white in even games
           0.5 points in handicap games

Handicap: 1:   No stones, 0.5 komi to white
          2-9: Handicap stones, 0.5 komi to white

FOOD

There will be free coffee and tea availabele, and there
will be other beverages for sale as well.
Lunch (fri+sat+sun) and Dinner (fri+sat) according to the schedule above. The
food is Vietmaese. Please order the meals when regestring for the tournament.

LODGING

We have some private accomodation. It is also possible to sleep at the
playing site (there is even a shower there). Please ask for accomodation when
regestring for the tournament. We have access to the buildning from Thursday
evening to Sunday at 16:00.

If you want to arrange your own accomodation you can choose from
the following hotels and hostels.

TRAVELLING

Map

By plane:
Fly to Skavsta (e.g. Ryanair Frankfurt-Skavsta), then take the airport
shuttle to Norrköping and change to local train for Linghem.

By train:
First, go to either Linköping or Norrköping, then change to the
local train for Linghem.

By car:
E4 towards Linköping. Exit at Linköping Östra (Exit 113)
In the first roundabout, turn towards Linghem (follow the signs).
Drive 7 km, turn right, under the railway, at sign Linghem.

A three-way crossing follows. Åkerbogården is straight ahead and
somewhat to the left, about 250 meters. Therefore turn left in the tree-way
crossing, then first to the right, and then right again and drive 200
meters and you are there!

From Stockholm it is possible to take a shorter route:
Use exit 115 from E4. Take the old E4 towards Linköping (Linghem)
until you get to Linghem and follow the instructions above.
